Sheldon Stuff on my cat!
Phoebe was blissed-out on the kitty heating pad, and the buttons were next to the computer, and ... well, this happened.
Hours later, she's in the same position, zonkered out and snore-purring away happily. The kitty heating pad is a wonder.
(That's Sheldon the webcomic, here - http://www.sheldoncomics.com/ - and those are some buttons featuring characters and sayings. I do so adore the webcomic!)
Woke up this morning and thought "that's strange ... the light outside is so white...". It didn't seem like 6am sunlight in Seattle.
Well, that's because outside looked like THIS!
We got at least an inch overnight, perhaps two!
At noon the snow was still here, but starting to melt:
I of course was ecstatic. I LUB DA SNOW.
Most folks I met were not so happy with it. But I can't help it - snow changes the whole world. It creates wonderlands where once were sad old yards and streets.
It was all gone when I got out of work, but rumor has it we may get more tonight! WOO!

My friend Andy had a housemate Dave who had a great computer, and he let us all use it. (Wait, or was it Andy's computer? Well, one of 'em had a computer) We played all sorts of games on it, but for sure one of my favorites was LEMMINGS. Oh, that wacky music, those little silly Lemmings! I forget what level I got up to but it was insane.
And now, crocheted Lemmings from Planet June!!
My favorite is the pickaxe lemming. I loved the pickaxe lemming. :) (I think I get the "wheeee, let's destroy stuff!" gene from my Mom, who loves digging up weeds and chopping down trees._
Seeing this makes me want to find that old housemate and point him to PlanetJune blog!

My partner received her house! So now I can post.
She had great themes, among them: fabric and Alexander Henry style prints, floral, and Day of the Dead.
So I made a fabric house, with a Day of the Dead display inside! The picture links to the forum post with photos from my partner (much more professional than my pictures!).
(The sloth is part of a joke with some other crafting people)
I did a craft swap recently called "One Tiny House" swap. You got themes from your partner, and using those and any other information they gave you, you made them a house that did not exceed 4"x4"x4".
I had *so* much fun making the house for my partner, she had great themes and ideas, and if I had any trouble it was narrowing down ideas! I want to make her MORE houses!
And then I got her house. Oh. My. I was stunned, elated, happy, and SO IMPRESSED. She really was *spot on* for me. In fact she even made me tear up a bit, she was so sweet and dedicated to this house.
Look what I got.
First, she decorated the mailing box:
And then when I opened it, I found a little booklet with my moving-in instructions!
As you can see, the exterior walls are covered in text from many different sources. And isn't that a great sign over the front door?
The house has two windows, so that I can look out at the mountains and at the ocean:
Each interior wall has a different theme:
See that wood plank floor? Those are *individual pieces* laid down. Not a sheet of paper. Individual little tiny planks. My partner is INCREDIBLE.
And then. As if the house itself wasn't enough, she sent extras, wrapped individually and in a specific order for me to open!
It turned out to be furniture for my house!
That's a little tufted couch with a nautical pillow, a little tufted ottoman, a little table, a little yarn stash with "knitting needles" in the corner, and on the table, a little *SEWING MACHINE* with a little project in it!

And then she went one step further.
The last little package to unwrap revealed a little gray cat - she sent me a mini-Phoebe!!
The two of them got acquainted...
All household members approve of the tiny house.
I love it! I am going to have to create a special shelf for this house and the other tiny houses I might get in future swaps.
I'll post photos of the house I made after my partner has posted in our forums.
Now if you'll pardon me, i'm going to go imagine myself on my little couch with my little cat knitting a little something, with my feet up on my ottoman and watching the sunset over the mountains!
I've been trying to organize all my disparate scheduled events, classes, training sessions, meetings, walks, etc etc etc, and frankly ... google calendar has failed me. As has outlook or any other calendar event.
I bought a calendar at the greenmarket, a nice little calendar with local historic pictures (proceeds to the historical society), and I've finally written everything down. My brain really does need things written out sometimes to finally lock it all down in place.
Very glad I did this, as I probably would have forgotten a birthday party coming up!
Today I got word that I won a giveaway - I'd forgotten about this one, actually. But what a great one to win! I won an eco-friendly bag filled with Kimberly-Clark household products. As I am on a tight household budget, this win will really help me out!
The giveaway was through the lovely Dose of Design blog. I have this blog in my Google reader, there's always something beautiful to look at, and for those who are purchasing home furnishings and linens etc, she keeps her eye on sales and discounts and always has a great finds. I love seeing a Dose blog post in my reader list! I'll of course share pictures of the item I won.

The Library of Congress has created a set of photos on Flickr, containing photos of Lincoln from a range of years.
Thank goodness for these bits of flowery sunshine, as this is as bright as today will get. Gloom and doom feeling here lately, but I smile every time I walk past these.
